"I have never been into mainstream or easy things; I have always adopted the idea that life is about exploring and experiencing new things, especially things that seem hard to do. Rowing, which is considered to be one of the toughest sports, seemed to be the right small adventure for me. In a 6 minutes race, we row till we go numb and numb doesn't mean feel nothing it means you're in so much pain your body blacks out. Nevertheless your mind deludes you to think that this pain is a bliss so you turn it into power and keep pushing till the end. We row facing backwards and thus we see the boats we are beating which is different from any other sport. And being in the winning boat gives you a great drive and a great feeling of satisfaction. After each race I became more addicted and my passion for this sport kept growing till it became a priority over many things. Rowing caused me injuries, it took from my social life and it changed my life patterns to the extent that my friends and family keep asking me why would someone do something so painful and demanding. However, they don't understand that this is the kind of pain that gives me pleasure, the kind of pain that I miss in my days off because this pain is what brings the strongest and the most determined version of me."
